Find Low Competition Long Tail Keywords

One of my main blogging strategies has been to find low competition long tail keywords. With a low competition keyword, you’ve much more chance of ranking your phrase on Google, and getting free traffic. Finding high traffic, low competition keywords is of course preferable. But it’s much more difficult. It’s also worth considering the intent behind the keywords you target too. Unless you have a good phrase, your chances of turning the traffic into sales is far less.

find low competition long tail keywords

For example, there’s many low competition long tail keywords with the keyword “free” in them! Unfortunately this kind of search tends not to result in sales. So even if you rank your phrase well on Google, you’ve only build traffic from tyre kickers who don’t want to pay for anything! Of course you could potentially turn a search like this into a sale, but you’ll spend time and effort potentially attracting the wrong kind of visitor to your site.

Find Low Competition Long Tail Keywords – Keyword Research.

To find low competition long tail keywords, you can use search tools. The free one is Google’s keyword planner. You can also use tools available on SEM Rush, and other such platforms.

But Google’s free keyword tool is a good place to start. See my article on keyword research for niche sites. To find your long tail keywords, type in a main “seed” keyword of two words or more. Then click on your monthly search volume tab and scroll through the results.

See video below:

You can of course go for the keywords with a tonne of traffic. However, you’ll likely not rank your content due to the high volume of competition on Google. So going for the long tail keywords is a better options for bloggers who want to rank on the first page for the lesser searched for key terms.

With a low search volume of 10 searches a month, it’s going to be tough getting much traffic. Even if you rank highly on page 1 of Google, you’ll only get a trickle. But the key is to create many articles like this and build up your “trickles” of traffic. Free traffic is still free traffic and 1 hit a week on a long tail keyword is better than zero on a listing which is on page 10 of Google!

Find Low Competition Long Tail Keywords – Examples

One of my favourite examples of low competition long tail keywords are pdf’s and guides. Unfortunately pdf’s do attract an audience which doesn’t want to buy anything! But pdf’s can turn into leads and sales. Here’s an example of a piece of content I created several years ago which made a sale just today!

Check out the article affiliate marketing step by step guide pdf. Pdf’s are easy to create once you know how and you can create ebook covers easily using Fiverr.com (or create them yourself).

You can find keywords like this using Google’s keyword planner. Type in your main “seed” keyword and use the filter option to add keywords you want to include. Then use “guide”, “download”, “pdf”, “step by step”, “beginners” and “newbies”, “dummies” etc. to find low competition long tail keywords.

Obscure Words

You can also find low competition keywords by using obscure keywords in your filter. Think of as many obscure words which you can use in your keyword search. This site, for example, was built on the obscure search term “autopilot”. In the affiliate marketing niche, which is very competitive, long tail keywords which are low on competition are hard to find.

So depending on which niche you’re in, look for keywords which are seldom used. You’ll often find them popping up in the search tool if you type them into the keyword filter and use them in the main search.

For a competitive keyword, you are unlikely to rank your content using the main keyword. Instead, look for your main keyword appearing at the end of the phrase, rather than the beginning.

Use the 80:20 Rule

Pareto’s principle states that 80% of your results come from 20% of your actions. With an affiliate marketing website, much of the work you do will come to nothing! Especially if you’re a blogger. But some of it will have an impact. I’ve written thousands of articles on many topics. Most of my sites fell away over time.

Many of the articles I’ve written don’t generate any traffic at all. But some of them do and continue to bring free traffic and sales. Once you can identify the strategies which work, and those which don’t, you can concentrate on the best actions to pursue.

Look for your content and boost it by linking to it and improving it too. If some of your content begins to show some promise and starts ranking on the first or second page of Google, improve it!

You can read about linking tactics, plugins and content creation plugins in my article create free website and earn money.

Testing Google For Your Keywords

Once you find a long tail keyword which fits the bill for your website, check it on Google to see the relative competition. I like to use keyword chains which offer less than 10,000 competing sites when I do the Google “sniff” test. The lower this number the better.

Then once I’ve done that I look at the search term without quotes.

Find Low Competition Long Tail Keywords
Find Low Competition Long Tail Keywords

Unfortunately both of these keywords would be out for me. I would use the longer one if the search volume came back at less than 10,000,000! Again, the lower this number the better.

Ranking your content is also about creating an awesome piece of content too. Without great content, you’re less likely to rank. But with too much competition, you could do all the work for nothing.

Autopilot Travel Affiliate Website

A friend of mine owns an autopilot travel affiliate website. His site ranks on Google for some major keywords and he gets free traffic. It’s monetised with hotel bookings and car hire companies. So on an average week, he’ll earn a passive income from hotel bookings and car hire bookings.

Obviously lately due to the Covid-19 situation the whole world has been in lockdown. People can’t travel and so his sites have lost traffic and income. For this reason, it’s worth diversifying your affiliate websites if you can. A travel website won’t earn much right now. But a site promoting work from home can do very well!

Autopilot Travel Affiliate Website – How To Create One

It’s not easy creating free traffic from Google. I didn’t even attempt to replicate my friend’s success because travel isn’t my passion. Steve loves travelling though and always has. He built his site years ago and managed to get a top domain name and some major back links. This didn’t happen overnight and he created lots of information on his site over several years.

You can check out his website here: As you can see there’s lots of useful information on the site.

Autopilot Travel Affiliate Website

If travel is your passion, an autopilot travel affiliate website might be a good idea. However, don’t expect it to make money overnight. Steve’s site took years in the making!

To create a travel site you should start with a keyword or several keywords which you can build a site around. This website was built around keywords to encourage Google to rank it in the search engines. You can see how I built this site in my article create free website and earn money. Ideally choose a topic you love, because it’ll help dramatically. See my blog post best micro niche for blogging.

A keyword targeted domain name isn’t totally essential however it can give you a bit of an advantage.

Autopilot Travel Affiliate Website – Building Your Site

It’s going to take some dedication to build a site which is useful for your visitors and eventually gets the attention of Google. That’s the autopilot part! Without Google ranking a niche website, you won’t get any visitors and therefore never make any affiliate commissions.

Let’s assume you’ve already done your keyword research for your niche site. You’ve chosen your domain name and built your site. See how to do this here.

Autopilot Travel Affiliate Website
Get a hosting package for your site.

Now you’ve got your blank canvas to work with. You should use some plugins to give your site the best chance of ranking and getting seen. Get an SEO plugin, a social media share button plugin and a post sharing plugin. Read about plugins in my article create free website earn money.

These will help you get exposure on your site which is what you’ll need to get Google to rank it. You’ll also need some quality content so always start with that! Use the keyword planner to find other keywords which relate to your main topic. Write articles for each of the keywords you find in the planner.

Backlinks

Steve, my “niche blogger buddy” was lucky, and got a backlink from a major website. This gave him loads of traffic and when he started his autopilot travel affiliate website, there wasn’t much competition in this niche. So people assumed his site had the most authority. So they linked to it and he built a number of links just because he wrote quality content on there.

So before you think about backlinks, try to find a specific keyword which you can build your site around. Ideally one with little competition. Then, build some awesome content. Content which sets you site apart from the others.

travel website backlink building

You can then go about building backlinks in a number of ways:

  • Use article writing websites such as Hubpages.com and ezinearticles.com
  • Build other niche sites of your own, and link from them to your content
  • Comment on other people’s blogs within your niche
  • Offer to guest write for other bloggers in your niche
  • Use social media to find people interested in your topic
  • Share your content throughout your social media platforms – ideally use an autopilot post tool which syndicates your content as you publish it.
  • Create videos on YouTube and link back to your website content.

What’s Your USP? Unique Selling Point?

There’s a million generic websites out there which earn nothing! What’s going to set yours apart from them all? Get really focused on what you are about and what you can offer people that others can’t. This is key to your site doing well. If you’re just going to create a website like all the rest, it can easily get lost among the noise.

Where your love/passion meets people’s needs = Ikigai

But create something a little different and people will share you content automatically. This is what you want to create. For this to happen you need to provide a service and give massive value.

If you don’t manage that, your site will struggle to get the number of visitors needed to build a business out of. Get it right and you can have a passive income from it eventually, if you work hard enough for long enough! See how long does it take to make money with affiliate marketing.

Autopilot Travel Products

Making money with a travel blog can be a great way to travel and earn at the same time. You can build a travel blog around various topics such as:

  • Travel information – Specific destinations (Like Steve’s)
  • Products to buy for travelling with – A “go to” blog for travel products
  • How to earn while travelling – Offer online business tools for the traveller who wants to earn while travelling
  • How to save while/before you book your travel
build an online business

Depending on your particular passions and interests you might choose one or all of these topics for you blog. “Earn online” products are good because you can attract travellers who want to build an income from their laptops. These kinds of products offer ongoing commissions (recurring income). Especially things like software products and memberships. Sign up on this site for more information. Steve’s airport site works by selling hotel bookings and taxi services. He also uses car rentals and monetises with travel accessories.

What Is Affiliate Marketing?

What is affiliate marketing? Affiliate marketing is an online business model which allows anyone to make money by promoting other people’s products. A popular analogy is that it’s like recommending a restaurant to a friend; only when you recommend an affiliate product over the internet, you’re given a unique code in your affiliate link. When a sale is made, that link is tracked back to you and you receive a commission based on the sale.

what is affiliate marketing

Affiliate marketing is growing in popularity because it can allow anyone to earn an income from the internet. Once you’ve mastered affiliate marketing it means you no longer need to work a job, commute, have a boss or rely on anyone else for your income.

What Is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliates are basically third party referral sales people. Although you don’t have to be particularly salesman-like to become an affiliate. Affiliates do all kinds of activities over the internet in order to make sales of products. Some affiliate marketers build websites, and others create videos. Some use social media to attract visitors and others build huge lists of subscribers to promote their products to.

This website is an example of one particular affiliate strategy. Should you purchase something from this site, I’ll earn a commission based on the sale.

Anyone can become an affiliate marketer too. All you have to do is join an affiliate program and start sharing your affiliate link. The real skill of an affiliate marketer is attracting a large audience and delivering products which are of value to them.

How Affiliates Build An Audience

There’s a few ways to build a following as an affiliate marketer. Most successful affiliates have a list of subscribers though. This is a list of people who have subscribed to a service. I offer a free video series on this website, for example. If you sign up for the videos you’ll join my list of subscribers.

As an affiliates list grows and they get good at communicating to their subscribers, they’ll be able to sell products to them. With a small list, they’ll only make a small amount of sales. But as their list grows into the tens of thousands of subscribers, they’ll increase their earning potential. See autopilot email marketing .

To get people to subscribe to your list you’ll have to offer something of value. Then they give you their email address so you can deliver your freebie!

What Products To Promote

There’s literally thousands of products available online which you can promote as an affiliate. You can do a Google search for affiliate programs in pretty much any area and you’ll find something. So if you have an existing website already, you can pick an affiliate product and stick it on there!

Most affiliate programs already have marketing materials such as banners, videos and webinars for example. The job of an affiliate is basically to send customers to the products. Customer service, product manufacture, handling and delivery are all taken care of by the product owners. This means affiliates can focus on one thing and one thing only – marketing.

Some products offer better commissions than others to affiliate marketers. Physical products tend to pay less than digital products. Amazon’s commission structure can be seen in the image above. Digital products tend to pay more to affiliates because there’s fewer costs involved in their production and delivery. A good product for affiliates to promote is one which offers recurring commissions.

Recurring commission affiliate programs are usually products which offer lifetime value to their customers. These are things like software packages, online business tools and trainings with a membership fee.

Affiliate Marketing And Automation

Because of the automation involved in marketing, affiliates can create huge businesses very quickly. Using paid marketing platforms means they can reach a very targeted audience too and promote products to a global audience.

If you don’t want to pay for marketing your products there’s other ways too. Blogging and social media marketing are two such strategies. However, results are typically much slower when you use free strategies to promote products online. A blog for example might take several months or years to get traction and generate regular visitors. Whereas a paid marketing strategy can generate thousands of visitors almost instantly.

Because websites and marketing platforms work constantly, an online business can operate around the clock and never stop! Within an international business you can scale your business globally and deliver products and services around the world to customers without having to touch a product or speak to a customer.

Get Started

If you’re interested in getting started with affiliate marketing the best thing to do is educate yourself in it. Affiliate marketing is no quick fix and it does take time and effort to learn and build an income from. But if you’re hard working it can be a great opportunity to earn an income from anywhere.

Micro Niche Affiliate Marketing

With micro niche affiliate marketing, you create content to find visitors for free. Building an income from the internet takes time and isn’t easy and there’s various routes to achieve it. Paid marketing is undoubtably an easier and quicker route. But building free traffic has always been something I’ve been inspired by.

micro niche affiliate marketing

With micro niche affiliate marketing, you create content which gets found on Google, and other search engines. People come to your website and sign up to your offers. You can then suggest various affiliate products to them via email and bingo, you make money!

But how to you start this process and how reliable is it?

Micro Niche Affiliate Marketing

This website “autopilot money making software” is a niche website. The “money online” niche is however incredibly competitive. So it’s a tough nut to crack. Hence why it’s built around a more obscure keyword like “autopilot”. You can read how I built this site in my article create free website and earn money.

With micro niche websites, the key is to find a topic or interest which floats your boat and build content around it. If you’re passionate about something, you’re much more likely to pursue it for long enough to have a successful blog. The best micro niche for blogging is one which you’re passionate about. Micro niche blogging topics can be almost anything. Topics such as making money online, health and fitness, weight loss and dating though are pretty competitive.

micro niche affiliate marketing

A micro niche is a niche within a niche. For fitness for example you could choose a very defined topic such as “chair yoga for the elderly”, or it could be hand exercises for guitarists. Getting more specific in your niche is useful for two main reasons:

  • It helps you get clear about your audience
  • Your content is more likely to rank on Google since there’s less competition

Choosing Products

Affiliate marketing is how you can monetise your affiliate site. By choosing the right product for your interest, you’re more likely to make sales. If you get a mismatch between your visitors who like your content and the product, you won’t make any sales.

So choose products which you, yourself would really want; since your target audience is likely to think and act like you. This is true only if you’re choosing your topic around your passions, which is recommended.

You can find products everywhere online in almost any niche. Just do a search for “garden hose affiliate program”, and you’ll likely find something:

You can also find products to promote on sites like Clickbank.com, JVzoo.com and click2sell.com

Sustaining Your Interest Over The Long Term

Sustaining a blog over the long term without an interest in it is pretty difficult. Even if you follow something you’re passionate about it can be tough. But blogging about something you don’t give a s”*t about is painful. For starters you’ll have to research everything you write about. I did this for a website about harvesting mushrooms. It was painful and eventually I gave up on it!

You’re also going to have competition too, whatever niche you find. So to overtake that competition in Google’s search rankings is going to be a challenge. If you don’t create a useful resource around your topic, Google will know too by the way people interact with your content. So it will be marked down in the search engines and you’ll get less visitors.

micro niche affiliate marketing

So it’s a good idea to find a topic or interest which you love. Otherwise you’ll struggle maintaining the necessary effort to succeed.

Micro Niche Affiliate Marketing – Turning Passion Into Income Online

The exciting thing for me with micro niche affiliate marketing is turning a passion into an income on the internet. What’s more, if you succeed with a niche website, you’ll have free traffic and not have to pay for marketing. This means sales are 100% profit!

Your first job is to decide on your topic and build a site. See how I built this site here. Get into a habit creating content on a regular basis and keep going. Link back to your articles in as many ways as possible.

To set up monetisation on your site, you can simply use affiliate links and banners from the program you decide to use. You should also get an autoresponder which is an email delivery and collection service. An autopilot email marketing service is an important part of monetising your micro niche affiliate site and definitely worth investing in. It lets you collect subscribers who you can keep in touch with about the products you’re going to offer.

Email marketing works because it lets you communicate with your website visitors long after they have left your website. If you don’t get one, you’re going to be relying on people landing on your site and instantly purchasing a product; which is hard to achieve.

Micro Niche Affiliate Marketing – Review Sites

If you want to keep your expenses down completely and not invest in an autoresponder, your best bet is to build a review website. With a review website, your visitors are very targeted. They are usually looking for a review for a product which they are going to buy. They just want to learn something to reassure them that they are going to get what they want. Then they will often purchase.

If your review is the last thing they read before making a purchasing decision, they will use your affiliate link to actually buy the product and you’ll earn a commission.

The problem with a review site is you’ll need to have access to many products and it’s harder to get noticed among all the competition.

Creating “Hooks” For Your Visitors

Ideally use a “hook” to get people to join your email list once they land on your website. This could be an ebook, a video series or some kind of free downloadable product. I use a few hooks such as my ebooks and I offer a free video series about building an online business.

Your hook should be something of value which is clearly useful and attractive for your visitors. In exchange for your product, your visitors will give you their email address. Then you can continue following up with them giving them value through your emails and build more trust over time. When your subscribers know, like and trust you, they’ll be more likely to purchase something you recommend.

Sales Autopilot

Having a sales autopilot system, which generates money is the goal of most affiliate marketers. With an affiliate product, you don’t personally have to do the “back end” selling, customer service or even touch a product. Affiliate marketers promote products at the “front-end” of a business, and earn commissions based on the sales they generate.

With the right kind of products, and an automated and scalable marketing “engine”, you can create a sales autopilot system which churns out cash. But how do you create such a system and what’s involved in the process?

Sales Autopilot – What To Sell?

The best way to build such a system is to use an existing product range. You can use any affiliate product of course but a range gives you more chance of success.

To use the best marketing platforms too, is expensive. So a product range will give you a greater return and make the process more easily achievable. There’s many ways to build a sales autopilot though and you don’t have to pay. But doing so will make your journey a much easier (and shorter) one.

If you’re looking for free strategies to build a sales autopilot, checkout my article autopilot money making system free. Keep in mind that this is a much slower process and there’s more work involved.

Generating Autopilot Sales

Affiliate marketers generate autopilot sales in a number of different ways. Some use paid marketing and scale up once they find a profitable campaign. This is by far the quickest and most effective method.

Other affiliates go the cheaper (but slower) route of creating content, such as this article. Over time, with enough content and visitors, you’ll start to see sales coming through from your previous work. As your body of content grows, so should your income.

sales autopilot

You can also choose to use recurring income products too, as an affiliate. With a recurring income product, a single sale gives you an income, rather than just a single commission. This is a good strategy to use whatever your marketing methods are.

Which Marketing Strategy?

The key to marketing is to find a strategy which works for you and your specific situation. If you don’t have time, paid marketing would probably suit you better. If money is more of an issue, you can create content instead, which is cheaper (free).

sales autopilot

Or, you can even use a combination of paid marketing and content generation. Building a sales autopilot system is the easy part. Especially if you get a ready made sales funnel. Once you have one, there’s still work to be done. You need to learn how to build an effective marketing engine to drive targeted visitors into it and deliver products and services which are valuable to them.

Some marketers use video and others write blogs. There’s many social media marketing strategies too. Choose your path wisely and stick to one until you have mastered it. It’s very easy to jump from one marketing strategy to another and get lost in the process. Sticking to one path and mastering it is a far better strategy.

Ideally too join a community of like minded people and get the help you need.

How A Sales Funnel Works

A “sales funnel” is the main strategy online business owners use to generate autopilot sales. They sell products through a marketing funnel by getting people to opt in to their email list. Once in the email list, a marketer can follow up with regular emails and build a relationship with their subscribers.

Over time this list get larger and larger and the marketer can send out a single email and reach tens of thousands of people at once. If those people are tuned in to your messaging, they are much more likely to purchase a product you recommend.

sales autopilot

Anyone can do this too if they get the right help. You can use other people’s products and services to monetise an email list and sell products globally.

Sales Autopilot – Scaling Your Business

If you choose a good product range and use paid marketing, scaling your business is much more achievable. Whereas if you use content marketing and other free strategies, it’s much more a long term deal. With content marketing, you should expect to create a lot of content in the first instance. Not much will happen for a long time and this is a tough strategy. But if you keep at it, your traffic and sales should at some stage dramatically go up!

sales autopilot

Bloggers and content marketers hope for their content to get traction by going viral. With a good piece of content which gets shared around the internet, it can make their business. But this of course isn’t guaranteed! You might work for months or even years before you see any kind of dramatic traction.

With paid marketing it’s different. Initially you can test and measure your advertising to see what works. You’ll quickly see which campaigns work and which don’t and you can stop those which don’t work very quickly. Once you hit on a profitable campaign, you can increase your budget to reach more people very quickly. If you have a scalable campaign and there’s plenty of traffic available, you can see a sudden rise in your traffic, leads and sales.

Online business owners can build 6 and 7 figure businesses by using paid marketing. Of course they spend a lot of money testing and measuring their advertising before they even get to the stage where they can scale up.

autopilot sales

Autopilot Sales – The Customer Journey

To create a sales autopilot isn’t an easy thing, even with all the right tools and support. The main thing to get right is to find the right people for your particular product range. Get this wrong at your peril! Finding the right targeting for your audience is important. With online marketing platforms you can target people down to extreme details such as their age, interests, where the live and what they have been looking at online!

This is an amazing time to build an online business just because of the technology available at your fingertips! But you can easily go off course and get it wrong too. Get the wrong audience and you can spend heaps of time and/or money sending the wrong people to products they’re not interested in.

The key thing to keep in mind is the customer journey. This is the journey the customer takes in order to land at your products. If they watch a video on YouTube for example, and click a link which takes them to someone else talking, there’s a massive disconnect. They are likely to leave. It’s nice to have some congruency in your dealings with someone when you buy something. If you keep being passed from one person to another, you’re likely to lose interest. See sales funnel landing page for more on this.

Your Customer “Avatar”

The customer “avatar” is another important piece of the jigsaw when creating a sales autopilot system. A customer avatar is your perfect customer in terms of who they are, how they think, where they live and so on. The more detailed you can get on who your customer avatar is, the better you’ll be at zoning in on targeting them with your online marketing strategies.

If you own a physical shop somewhere, for example, you’ll get an idea of who your perfect customer is. Over time, you’ll see people come and go. The customers who stay with you, and keep buying from you are you perfect customers. With an online business this can be a little more tricky. You don’t have the experience of owning that physical shop and knowing the people who come in every day. So you’ll need to delve down into who exactly will benefit from your products and services. What are their main problems and pains? Where do they live? How old are they and how can you best deliver your products to them?

When you can answer these questions, you’ll be in a better position to target your perfect customer avatar with your marketing efforts.

Testing And Measuring

The top online marketers have built 6 and 7 figure businesses. Many spend upwards of $20k a month just on marketing, driving targeted visitors into their sales funnel and making sales.

But they don’t start out by spending this kind of money. They start out small by testing adverts at ÂŁ10-$20 a day. Over a month of spending $20 a day, you’ll have spent $600. With a good sales funnel, you should know your numbers so you can test and measure a campaign without losing too much capital. If a $600 campaign returns only $500 in sales, you know something is wrong. So you try again.

Testing and measuring is how these marketers all begin. They find a strategy which delivers a return which is greater than their investment reliably over and over. Then they can scale up and increase their budget knowing that their budget has given them a positive return. Even for a low return, they can still scale up their sales autopilot to make larger percentages.

Example Of Some Numbers

For example. Lets say a marketer spends $500 and only makes $550. They are still in profit and they have built an autopilot sales funnel which works! They’ve made $50 by spending $500. So if they then increase their budget to $2000, they will make $2200 all things being equal.

A good funnel should give you a larger return than 10% of course. But you can see how the power of scaling a funnel aggressively can be used as a strategy to make more money.

Ideally, your sales funnel should give you a return of 2:1 which means you pay in $1 and get $2 out. Then, you can scale up and pay $20,000 a month and get $40,000 out! However, unless you’ve a lot of cash to burn on testing your sales funnel, you should definitely start with small amounts you can afford to lose.

Why Build An Sales Autopilot?

Of course this all seems like a lot of effort. Why would you want to do this? Well if you’ve read this far, you must be at least a little interested? A sales autopilot gives you freedom: both financial freedom and time freedom. Before the coronavirus outbreak, a sales funnel system was attractive because it meant people could escape their uncomfortable jobs and careers and live with more choice.

At the moment during lock down, it’s a slightly different story but the same carries true. A sales funnel can give you complete autonomy over your income which is incredibly important if you want to be free from a boss or an employer. But more so now, people are looking for ways to earn for themselves without relying on their jobs during lockdown.

If you’re serious about building an online income and even if you have no experience, you can get access to training and resources here which can help anyone earn online.

Automated Money Making System Free

Looking for an automated money making system free of charge? The internet offers one of the best opportunities to automate an income from anywhere in the world. You just need to know what to do! I looked for an automated money making system free of charge for years. Unfortunately there’s some work involved, so get ready to roll up your sleeves!

Automated Money Making System Free

The best strategy I found to automate income from the internet was in selling affiliate products. You can also use Google’s Adsense program too and depending on your particular content strategy (more on this later), you can even do both.

Automated Money Making System Free – A Disclaimer

Let’s get down to brass tacks. In order to automate money from the internet you’re going to have to do quite a bit of work. Without giving value in some way, it’s just not going to happen. So be ready for that! If you want it fast, you’ll need to invest. The fastest way I found was to purchase a high ticket funnel with a range of digital products you can sell for 40%+ commissions. If you’re interested in this sign up on this site and learn more about high commission affiliate programs.

But this article isn’t about investing. The title is “automated money making system free”, so that’s what this is about. To do things completely free is a lot more difficult than paying even a small amount. If you have even $100 to invest I’d suggest getting your own website and using an autoresponder to collect emails. But let’s get back to free strategies.

Completely Free Strategies

Completely free strategies allow you to find customers and send them to products they want. My first online sale came from a completely free strategy. I joined a site called Hubpages.com and wrote a number of articles. Hubpages is a completely free blogging platform. It let’s you create content and promote suitable affiliate products to your audience. If you’re unsure what affiliate marketing is, here’s a short overview. Affiliate marketing is a business model which lets anyone sell other people’s products over the internet for a commission. When you sell a product through your affiliate link, you earn a percentage of the sale.

automated money making system free

See affiliate marketing for more on this. Hubpages has certain rules and does limit the choice of products you can use. However, it’s a good place to start if you have zero money to spend. You’ll need to create a lot of content and get people to it for them to see your products which you share, and your links. This can take a lot of time and effort and nothing is guaranteed.

A better way is to have your own website. This means you can control what you put on it and you can choose the best affiliate products for your content. It also means you own the content on it too.

Completely Free Strategies – YouTube

YouTube is another option for completely free strategies. There’s various social media platforms you can use too: Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin. All of these can be used to build an audience and attract customers. You can then lead them to affiliate products which are suitable and appropriate to your followers.

YouTube is a great platform to build an automated money making system free. Again it will take time and a lot of work to do this. You first need to decide on what content you will provide for your visitors. This decision is pretty important because it will determine what you create your videos/content around, who you will attract and what products you will choose.

automated money making system free

I talk about this in my article best micro niche for blogging.

You’ll find the journey is easier and you can be more natural and therefore attractive if you choose a topic you’re aligned with.

There’s nothing worse than trying to create content around something which you don’t care about! So pick something you can get behind and last for the long run!

Automated Money Making System Free – Products

Your choice of product is pretty important. Unless your followers can get behind you, they won’t buy into you or the products you recommend. So you could spend a huge amount of time and get nowhere. If your content is about a certain topic, choose a product, or products which are aligned with that topic. If your videos are about flower arranging and your products are about scrapbooking, for example, there’s a massive disconnect. Your audience is very unlikely to want that particular product.

So choose products which you would personally buy yourself. If you would buy a product, this means you’re more likely to be aligned with it in your content. If you don’t want to actually purchase a product, choose something you’re interested in. You can find products all over the internet which allow you to earn money by selling them. Just type in “your interest affiliate product” into Google.

I have an interest in martial arts so here’s a quick search I did:

You can also find a load of products on a site called Clickbank. Clickbank offers many products for affiliates which can be sold globally since they are digital products. See my article on clickbank autopilot money making software.

Don’t Quit, Just Learn

These strategies are definitely going to take you some time to do. You’ll likely experience a lot of frustration so it’s well worth joining an online community for help and support. Going it alone with free strategies takes a lot of time and a lot of effort. Most people will give up before they even see any sales.

What you need to keep in mind is that this is the same for everyone. Those who succeed will keep going, even when there are no results. Over time, you’ll start seeing some people visiting your content. This will grow if you continue to put it out there. Eventually, if you keep at it for long enough, you’ll see some sales. Those who keep going no matter what will eventually see a massive exponential rise in their traffic (visitors) and sales. The goal is to achieve this and start earning money passively! See create passive income with $1000 for more on this.

If you want to join an online community for more help and support you can do so here.

Best Micro Niche For Blogging

There’s no definitive best micro niche for blogging. Ideally choose a blog topic which you have an interest or passion for. Otherwise, you’ll quickly lose momentum and run out of ideas. A blog takes time and effort to build up and is definitely a slow strategy for making money.

But if you stick it out for long enough, Google will reward you by giving you a ranking for your keywords. When and if this happens you can expect a sudden surge in traffic. If you’re blog is set up right, this can mean more leads and sales and a passive income.

Choosing A Micro Niche

Best Micro Niche For Blogging

Micro niche blogging topics vary and there’s plenty to choose from. A micro niche is a niche within a niche. For example a niche could be the fitness niche. A micro niche within the fitness niche would be something like chair Yoga for pensioners, for example. Still, that may not be the best micro niche for blogging. Can you monetise? Do you have a passion for your topic? Is it competitive?

With a micro niche, you delve down into a smaller version of your niche which appeals to a very specific audience. Because you’re online, you still have a pick out of a global audience. And a micro niche offers much less competition; so you’re far more likely to get ranked for your content and get free traffic.

The best blog niches to make money can vary. But getting traffic is a must. Without people getting to your content, your business is dead in the water. So your choice of topic is pretty important. Some say choosing an ‘evergreen’ topic is important. Evergreen niches make money all year round. Unlike some niches which make money only seasonally. Christmas trees for example only sell around Christmas; so choosing such a niche might not be a great idea.

Ikigai

What’s your ikigai? Ikigai is a Japanese term which is found by aligning your passions, interests and vocation. It means “a reason for being”/ Once you can identify your ikigai, you have hit upon a potential mini niche to build a blog around.

Why is it so important to choose a topic aligned with your passions? For a couple of main reasons:

  • It’s much more difficult creating content around something you don’t know about and/or have no passion for
  • You can’t sustain an interest in something you’re absolutely not interested in

I had a blog I started about mushroom harvesting. A friend of mine had built a niche website around the niche of potatoes. I decided I could find a niche which was completely untapped around some kind of vegetable. So I started doing some keyword research for niche sites around various topics. I eventually found a domain name “whentoharvestmushrooms.com” and started creating content around it. I knew nothing of the topic, but found the keyword was being searched for and had very little competition.

Worst Micro Niche For Blogging

But I made several errors here:

  • Choosing a topic I had no knowledge about previously
  • Picking a topic which was seasonal
  • There were very few affiliate products I could align with the content
  • I chose a topic I had no interest in

Because I knew nothing about the topic of harvesting mushrooms, I had to research every post I created. This was labour intensive and no fun at all, since I didn’t really give hoot about my subject – I just wanted to make a site which made money.

The seasonal nature of the blog meant I only got traffic around the mushroom harvesting season. So, for much of the year the site lay dormant. I also couldn’t find many affiliate products to sell from the site, something I should have looked into before choosing the topic.

Eventually I grew tired of building on the site and left it. It ranked top of Google for some time, but eventually someone with a greater passion took first place. They were obviously passionate about the topic and created many more videos and posts that I was capable of doing. I ran out of enthusiasm for the site after several months of creating content and gave up on it. Eventually I got rid of it but it taught me a few lessons.

Why So Specific?

A micro niche is important for a few reasons:

  • You can identify a specific customer and lead them to a specific product
  • Your site/blog is more easily going to be ranked and found by visitors

There’s a saying in sales: try and sell everyone and you sell no-one! So having a very specific niche means more of the right people will find you in the overcrowded space of the internet. If you aim for a competitive niche, even a profitable one, you’re likely to get lost in the crowd.

Popular evergreen niches include: health and fitness, money making online, dating and relationships, self improvement, weight loss, pets, beauty, gadgets and technology.

But throw up a website in any of these niches and you’ll have hundreds of thousands of competing websites which will likely drown you out. So unless you can afford to pay for marketing, you’ll want to find something which is less competitive.

This website is an example of a micro niche site in the money making online genre. It’s a very competitive niche so difficult to get noticed. You can see how this site was built around the main keywords in my article create free website and earn money.

If you can identify a passion or interest, link it to a very specific niche and build a site around it, you could be onto a winner! But it will take a lot of hard work before you’ll see the fruits of your labours.

Popular Topic Vs. Micro Niche

Take a look at the image above. You’ll see I’m using the keyword planner to find low competition keywords for some of the articles I’m writing on this website. With highly competitive keywords, you’re much less likely to get any ranking on Google. That’s because there’s far too much competition. It’s far easier to go for the “low hanging fruit”.

Would you rather have zero traffic from a competitive keyword which gets 100,000 monthly views or 10 views a month from one which is less competitive?

See my article keyword research for niche sites.

Keyword Research For Niche Sites

Keyword research for niche sites can be done with Google’s free keyword planner. There’s more tools you can buy too, such as SEM Rush for example, but Google’s free tool will do the job!

When I built this site, that’s where I started. I found the keywords for the domain by typing in “autopilot money making” and other similar keywords. The keyword planner gives you a number of keywords which might be suitable for you to use.

Keyword Research For Niche Sites

Once you have found a keyword which might be suitable, head over to Google for the “sniff test”.

Choose a keyword with a long tail. The more words in your keyword, the more likely you’ll be on getting your niche website to rank for them. Most two word keyword combinations are too competitive. Plus, you’ll struggle finding a domain with two main keywords in it. most of the best ones are already gone!

So let’s take “autopilot money making websites” as an example keyword. Take your keyword over to Google and type in into the search bar. You should get the results and number will appear at the top of the page (on a desktop computer, not a mobile).

Keyword Research For Niche Sites

Take a look at the number at the top left of the image above. 1,710,000 represents the number of competing websites/pages for this particular keyword. Anything below 10 million is good. Less than 5 is great and less than 2million is good too. As a comparison, take a look at a hugely competitive keyword such as make money online:

google search

That’s why you don’t want to build a niche website around competitive keywords like these! You’ll never rank your site! Anyway, back to the keyword we found “autopilot money making websites”. Once you’ve done a basic search for your keyword, do another one in quotes “like this”. You should get another number and this denotes the number of pages competing for that exact phrase. As you can see the number is pretty low for this one.

Once you’ve found a good keyword which you like, you can head over to Namecheap to purchase your domain name. A well targeted domain name with your main keyword in it has much more chance of ranking for it, once you’ve built out your website. See how this site was built in my article create free website and earn money.

The keyword used here “autopilot money making websites” only gets around 40 searches a month, (see keyword planner image at the top). However, this might be a good keyword to build a site around, particularly if you have an interest in this area and some good products to promote. The “money online” niche tends to be very competitive too so this might be a good domain to use.

purchasing a domain name

If your domain name is available on namecheap, purchase it and buy a hosting package to host your site on. You can learn about putting a site together in this article.

Building Out Your Site – Keyword Research

Building out your site will take some time. You can of course just throw up a small website which only has a few pages. But the more content you put on it, the more likely it will be that it will rank on Google. Ideally write at least one lengthy article with your main keyword as its title. Write 2000 words and stick that post/article on your front page.

You can then use Google’s keyword planner to find other keywords which are relevant for your website. Do this by typing your main keyword back into the planner. If nothing shows, use a shorter keyword. This should give you a number of titles for your blog to write articles on. Using this same example, this is what the planner should look like:

keyword planner

To start with you can pick out the keywords which meet the same criteria as we have just seen. That way, you’re more likely to get found by Google searches more quickly. As your site develops, you can go for the shorter and more competitive keywords to help you create more content.

Use links from your new content to deep-link to your other articles with their main keywords. This will help Google to see what keywords are relevant to which articles. See more in my article create free website and earn money. You can also download my ebook Niche Blogging For Profit below.

Keyword Research For Niche Sites – What To Expect

Building a niche site takes time but depending on how you go about it, you can rank a site fairly quickly. Of course there’s never any guarantee with Google so just make your site as good as you can make it. Trust quality over trickery! You can’t trick Google any more so don’t try.

Sometimes a site will start to rank within a month and sometimes it can take longer. Depending on the niche you choose, your site may not rank at all. This is why it’s important to go for the low hanging fruit, not the competitive keywords which have huge amounts of traffic but far too much competition. It’s much better to have a few visitors to your site for a low-competition keyword, than none for a very competitive one.

You can keep adding to your site by finding other low competition keywords too which are similar to your domain name. As you do this you should see some movement and traffic over time if you’re patient.

Make Money On Autopilot For Free

There’s a few strategies to make money on autopilot for free. Back in the early naughties, I bought and downloaded an ebook from eBay. This struck me as the perfect way to make money from the internet – selling a digital, downloadable product. Over the following few years, I tried all sorts of strategies to replicate this simple digital transaction; from the other side (as a seller).

I created ebooks and tried to sell them. But didn’t make any sales. After buying an online course, I realised there was a better way; affiliate marketing.

Make Money On Autopilot For Free

make money on autopilot for free

To make money on autopilot for free requires some work. But to “autopilot” an online sale can be relatively simple. Simply sell a product to someone which you don’t personally own. Affiliate marketing gives anyone this opportunity.

As an affiliate, you can choose from thousands of online products and become a seller of them. When you make a sale, you earn a commission. Online sales can be tracked back to your affiliate link. So you can sell a product without having to deal with a customer or even touch the product yourself.

Affiliate marketers use all kinds of strategies to sell products. Here’s just a few:

  • Direct response marketing – not free but the best method by far.
  • Social media marketing – Create a following on a social media platform and lead people to your products
  • Blogging – Blogging is one of the most popular low cost strategies. It’s slow but cheap or free.
  • YouTube – YouTube can be used as a paid platform or for free. Build up a bank of content which generates considerable traffic (visits) and send your followers to affiliate products.
  • Email marketing – Use an autoresponder to collect emails and deliver value driven content – sell affiliate products to your list. See autopilot email marketing.

Those are the main strategies but there’s thousands of other possibilities of course.

Make Money On Autopilot For Free

One of the best strategies I used was writing content on a site such as Hubpages.com. Hubpages lets writers create content for free, even without their own website. Over time, and with a lot of work, you can build a huge amount of content which leads customers to products online. You can also make money using Google’s Adsense program using this platform. When people click on your adverts, you earn small commissions. You’re effectively getting paid for advertising without a website.

make money on autopilot for free

One of the best things to write about is products. If you review a product in your content, you attract people seeking to buy. This is a huge key to finding the right audience. If you attract the right people, you’re more likely to make sales. Review websites, or content is great for affiliates because it usually attracts buying customers.

One of my very first sales online came from a review I had written on Hubpages. I paid nothing to make this sale; it just took some time to write the article.

You can also apply this same strategy using YouTube.

The Problem With Completely Free Strategies

The main problem with completely free strategies is they take time and effort. But if you’re patient enough, you can start generating results within a few months if you go about it right. You’ll need to create a lot of content though and of course your results are never guaranteed.

You’ll also have to likely spend a lot of time creating content with no results at all. This is difficult to maintain, especially if you don’t fully trust the process. This is why it’s better to choose a topic you love, so you can maintain your interest over the longer term. See how to find a niche for affiliate marketing.

If you have some money to spend, the best thing you can do is get your own website and an autoresponder. You can use free autoresponders such as mailchimp if you’re low on funds. However, I’ve personally found Aweber to be much more user friendly.

You can read about building a keyword targeted website in my article create free website and earn money. A keyword targeted domain can help you get more people to find your site. But you’ll still need to work at it to build up your flow of traffic and sales.

Choosing The Right Affiliate Products

A good affiliate product will reward you well. Many newbie affiliates choose products which pay very little and only reward them once. I did this too when I started out. The best products are ones which give the end user lifetime value and pays the affiliate ongoing commissions. These tend to be software products and memberships.

Recurring income affiliate products offer the affiliate the best returns for their efforts. They can sell an item once, and make ongoing income forever.

Finding the right customers for the products is a challenge however and it’s well worth getting some training on this.

But with the right products and a good strategy you can maintain for at least 6 months without seeing a return, you are good to go!

No One Said It Would Be Easy!

Yep I said 6 months! For a free strategy to work, you need to plug away at it for a long time. You can speed things up of course and it will depend on your strategy. But blogging, for example is definitely a slow burner.

make money on autopilot for free

I made a few early wins when I started out with affiliate marketing. But you need to stick at it for a long time if you want to see consistent results. Plus you need to work consistently.

If you want it faster, you’ll need to work harder or use paid marketing.

How To Make Money Selling Software

If you’re wondering how to make money selling software, there’s a simple strategy available to anyone. It’s called affiliate marketing. Affiliates make money online by selling products of all kinds. Software products can be the most lucrative products to sell because they pay ongoing commissions in many cases. See recurring income affiliate programs.

With any affiliate program you get paid for a referral. Affiliates act as third party advertisers. They recommend other people’s products and services over the internet. A good analogy is that of recommending a friend to a restaurant. Only with affiliate recommendations you get paid a commission if someone purchases a product because of it.

How To Make Money Selling Software

Affiliates sell all kinds of products over the internet. They sell digital products and physical products. Software products offer some of the most lucrative affiliate opportunities available for affiliates for a few reasons:

  • Many online businesses depend on software products
  • Software products pay out ongoing commissions for each sale
  • Sell to the right people and you have a lifetime of commissions for a single sale
  • With only a few sales you have an income, not just a few stand-alone commissions.

Here’s a few software products which are used for online businesses:

Aweber – Aweber is an autoresponder. Autoresponders collect email addresses from websites and can be used to automate email marketing campaigns. Online businesses rely on autoresponders for the running an operating of their business.

SEM Rush – This is an online data collection tool used by online business owners. It lets them collect data and better understand their marketing resources – SEO, competition, paid marketing etc. SEM Rush is a great software product to promote as an affiliate because it pays ongoing commissions (of up to 40%) and customers pay a subscription for the service. (at time of writing).

Hostgator – offers multiple hosting services for website owners. Hostgator is a great software product to promote as an affiliate. Join the program here.

How Do Affiliates Sell Software Products?

Affiliates marketers sell products in all kinds of different ways. Some affiliates create content like this article, and sell products through their links. Others use paid marketing and emails to promote products to their subscribers.

Because online affiliate products let you refer customers, (and there’s no delivery/service issues for affiliates), sales can be automated and scaled. This means affiliate marketers can sell globally and build huge businesses out of selling other people’s products over the internet.

Paid Marketing – How To Make Money Selling Software

Paid marketing is undoubtably the best way to make money selling software products online. However, it does take some time and effort to learn how to do this. With paid marketing, you send targeted customers directly to a product or through an email marketing campaign.

Initially you will likely run some paid adverts which don’t work. But, over time if you stick with it, you’ll get to learn which campaigns work and which don’t. Once you have the data, you can then easily run the winning campaigns (and scale up), and close down the losing adverts.

Of course this costs money just to learn. So you should aim to keep your budget low at the start. After you find a winning advert, you can slowly increase your budget. Over time, following this strategy, you should be able to automate sales and just let them run. This is a great situation to be in when you’re profitable!

Free Marketing Methods

Free marketing methods such as creating content, video or building a following on social media take some time. They are much slower strategies than using paid marketing. But if you are time rich, they can prove to be effective if you work hard at building a following.

This website is an example of a free marketing strategy. You can read how I built this site and how niche websites generate revenue in my article create free website and earn money.

Blogging is a popular form of online marketing which is low cost. V’logging, or video blogging is another strategy which involves building a “bank” of content from which you can build a customer base.
