Imagine making multiple autopilot sales over the internet, and earning more every month than you currently make per year in your job. It’s not a fantasy for many online entrepreneurs who started out exactly where you are right now.

I first turned towards the internet as a means of income several years ago and looked to create an autopilot ebook sale. An ebook struck me as a simple way to make autopilot sales over the internet. Here’s an example of an ebook sales page, which is simple enough to build:

Once you click on add to cart and pay, you can access the ebook immediately from a website and download it. Ebooks aren’t the best way to autopilot sales over the internet though. There’s a much better way which is much more lucrative. But, as an example, the ebook shows how it can be done, by anyone. Autopilot Sales Over The Internet

There’s a couple of problems with the ebook idea. Firstly you need to actually create an ebook and secondly you need to promote it. To pay for advertising to get people to your website is expensive and the profit you can earn from an ebook largely excludes this as a marketing strategy.

So instead you need to create a load of content to get people to your website for free. This takes time and a lot of effort, after which you can still struggle to sell a small digital product.

There’s a far better way to autopilot sales over the internet to earn a profit. It’s through a business model called affiliate marketing. With affiliate marketing you don’t need to create your own products and you can simply use other people’s products which are already selling. This will save you a heap of time and effort. Why create your own low-value products and spend months or even years promoting them, when you can build an online business much more quickly and efficiently.

Why Choose Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is a business model which lets you sell other people’s products over the internet. Because you can simply refer and recommend products, there’s no need to personally own products, create products or even handle products or deal with any customers. You literally refer people through your unique affiliate link over the internet and earn commissions on any sales you make.

This makes affiliate marketing one of the most automated and scalable business opportunities available today. In short, it’s the best way to autopilot sales over the internet and build an income.

Different Affiliate Models

But not all affiliate products are equal. There’s products which pay you once, and those which pay you over and over again, for example. Residual income affiliate products are the best to choose. Why would you do the same amount of work to earn one commission as you can to earn multiple on-going commissions?

Different affiliate products also pay you different levels of commission too. For example, most physical products only pay you between 1% and 11% commission whereas digital products can pay between 40%-60% and even beyond. Amazon is one of the most popular affiliate programs and many affiliate marketers use their products to build online businesses.

But beware that Amazon pays affiliates between 1% and 11% on any sales you make. This means it’s much more difficult to make your affiliate autopilot sales give you a profit. You’ll be limited on how you can promote your products because low cost, low commission products prohibit the use of some paid marketing strategies.

The Sales Funnel

A good sales funnel contains multiple products from which you can earn in multiple ways:

Through recurring income from software products and memberships which offer recurring commissions
By having a range of high ticket products to sell in your funnel
Using products which offer multi-tier sales – earn from sales made by your referrals

It is also much more lucrative to refer customers to products which give you lifetime commissions on a product range. Most affiliate products only pay you once. If you refer someone to an Amazon product, for example, you’ll only get paid once. With a product range, your customer can purchase other products years later, and you’ll still receive commissions based on those sales.

Marketing Your Autopilot Sales System

With a sales funnel like this you can more easily use paid marketing to build your online business. With small value products which only pay low commissions it’s much more of a challenge. High commission recurring income products are the best to use for affiliate marketing; especially if you want your business up and running quickly.

To market an ebook of your own for example which only sells for $10/£10, you’ll need to use free marketing strategies such as blogging. It’s difficult to earn a profit on such a low value item when you’re paying for advertising. It can still be done of course but it will usually take much longer and you’ll need to use more time consuming marketing strategies.

Paid marketing can more easily be scaled up too whereas it’s more difficult to do so with content marketing.

A paid marketing campaign can still take some time to get going. But ultimately it can be left running, building your business around the clock. So the fastest way to build an autopilot sales system is to use:

Paid marketing which is easily scalable

Autopilot Ebook

I first looked at creating an autopilot ebook sale after having bought one myself. It seemed such a simple transaction and struck me as an awesome business model; an automated sale, no dealing with customers and no handling of products. I wanted to get on the other side of this transaction and learn how to create a full time income from the internet.

My initial ebook purchase was from eBay. I bought an ebook which taught me about how to start a profitable ebay business. After making several sales using the system, I turned back to the autopilot ebook purchase I had made and tried to copy the idea with my own ebooks.

Autopilot Ebook – The Perfect Business?

It’s not that the eBay business was bad. It was in fact working and making me a small profit. But the time and effort I put in seemed too much for the reward I was getting. I knew that the internet had something better to offer; something much more efficient.

The autopilot ebook sale struck me as a perfect business model not only because it was more efficient, but also because it could be downloaded from anywhere in the world without paying any postage! Plus you didn’t need to physically handle products or deal with customers. It was in fact an “autopilot ebook” sale which meant an “autopilot income system“; at least in theory.

Autopilot Ebook Problems

One of the main problems with selling your own ebook online is that everyone and his dog has an ebook on their website. Also, many of them are giving them away for free! So how are you going to sell an ebook when so many are giving them away?

Another problem I faced was traffic. I threw up a website hoping that people would come running but what I didn’t know was that I needed to either pay for traffic or create some content to draw people to it.

Since paid traffic is more expensive than an ebook is worth, this only leaves content creation as a viable source of visitors to your website. But even after months of blogging on my site, I was struggling even to give away my ebooks for free!

Ebook Autopilot – Problem Solving

So even if your ebook is the best thing since sliced bread, without visitors to your site, no one knows about it. Even when you do get people visiting your website, you still have to convince them that your ebook is worth purchasing.

This is pretty tough if they’ve never heard of you! If Tony Robbins is raving about it, no problem – people will come running. A recommendation from someone like my mate (I jest) Tony is worth its weight in gold! But if you’re a newbie like I was, nobody has heard of you and they don’t know how valuable your ebook is (or isn’t!).

To get around this problem, you can do a couple of things. First, create value on your blog or website so that people can see your style and content. This can also be used as a marketing tool. People will find you from your blog content and if they like what they see they can purchase your book. But in most cases they won’t! They’ll take the free content and leave your site. After all, the internet is a tool for information gathering and is, by and large, a free tool!

Email Marketing

The other thing you can do is collect their email address by giving something away for free. Perhaps even a few pages of your ebook. Once you’ve done this, you can keep giving value to your visitors through an automated email marketing service. See autopilot marketing.

When someone lands on your website, they only have a “window” of a few minutes to make a decision as to whether or not to purchase your ebook. Once they leave your website they are gone, often never to return. But if you can collect their email address, you can extend this time period to days, weeks and even months and years.

Affiliate Marketing – A Better Business

The idea of an autopilot ebook sale is what ultimately led me to a business model known as affiliate marketing. With affiliate marketing, you can sell other people’s products over the internet for a share of the profit. After several months of attempting to sell my ebooks I had a lot of problems.

I put myself on a marketing course to learn how to better sell my own ebooks. The course taught me affiliate marketing and I switched gears, aware that the many affiliate products I could promote offered far more value than my ebooks, and to a much wider audience.

My first ebooks were about the film industry: how to become a stuntman and a TV Extra/Background Artist. I knew a little about this after pursuing a career as a stunt performer for several years. But this topic wasn’t as appealing for a large audience. At least not as appealing as the many courses I found online – which I could also promote as an affiliate.

Why Affiliate Marketing Is Better

Not all affiliate products are equal and it took me a long time before I found something which worked consistently. Amazon, for example is an affiliate program I am a part of. But Amazon only pays its affiliates tiny commissions; between 1 and 11% of the sale value.

Before I had success with affiliate marketing I made a lot of mistakes. I promoted small value products and spent years on activities which didn’t create the results I wanted. The key is to promote recurring commission affiliate programs which pay out again and again for each sale you make. High ticket programs too, give you much more scope for profit and allow you to venture into paid marketing strategies much more easily.

With a high value program, you can use paid marketing. You simply can’t afford this with your own low value ebook. A high ticket affiliate program can pay you commissions worth $1000+. An ebook will pay you $10-20 and only per sale. So it’s much more viable a business to choose products which offer both recurring commissions and high ticket products. High ticket recurring commission programs are the best use of your time, if you can afford to invest in the product range.

Their website will either fail to attract any one or it will attract the wrong kind of visitors.

My Best Tips

What I first started learning about affiliate marketing I made a tonne of mistakes. I promoted the wrong kinds of products, used the wrong kinds of marketing and gave up too easily. I got frustrated a lot and gave up several times. But my job juggling was never going to work out and I simply had to make it work. So I just never gave up!

To make a passive income from affiliate marketing in the quickest time possible, it’s worth taking a look at the types of products to promote. Many affiliates, myself included, start out with single sale products which pay you only once. But if you choose recurring commission affiliate products, you can start generating a passive income very quickly.

Amazon is typically the kind of place many affiliates start out. There’s a huge range of products to promote and whatever your business, you can promote a related Amazon product from your website to earn commissions. However, the problem with this is that Amazon sells physical products which pay out very little in the way of commissions. Typically they will pay you between 1 and 11% commission on a sale. Plus you only get paid once.

With digital products you can earn up to 50%+ on a sale. Plus with memberships and software products you can earn repeat commissions. A single sale of a membership product can pay out again and again, month in month out. There’s a few ways to use the internet and other people’s products to earn a passive income online. You can create content like this article, or upload videos to YouTube. But this is a long term strategy – creating content and linking content to products. There’s a lot of noise on the internet and millions of people all scrambling for attention.

The fastest way to turn the internet into a passive income source is by choosing a good product range which offers multiple earning strategies and use paid marketing to build it and then scale it up to a global audience. Ideally use subscription products which also offer a high ticket product range, a built in sales team and multi-tier sales. This gives you a huge earning potential and lets you more easily afford to use paid marketing which can be scaled up very quickly.

Of course this is much more costly than using free affiliate products and a high ticket sales funnel will set you back initially depending on the value of products you choose for your “digital store”.

With all the automation occurring in today’s marketplace, wouldn’t an “autopilot job” be a great thing to have?

I tried multiple jobs and careers and came to a conclusion: I wanted an autopilot job which worked on my behalf. Even my dream job as a stuntman wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. I endured years of sacrifice, was broke for decades, juggled multiple job roles and commuted for hours on end.

So I decided to look for an autopilot job. I knew I needed to somehow use automation and the internet to sell products and automate the sale.

Autopilot Job – The Internet

I tried several strategies to give me leverage, use automation and escape the time for money trap of working in return for a salary. Here’s a few of the things I tried:

Forex marketing
Buying and selling on eBay,
Selling my own ebooks
Affiliate marketing
Google Adsense

After working an eBay business for some time, I realised I wasn’t using the internet and digital technology in the most efficient manner. I had learned the eBay strategy after purchasing an ebook online. As I looked back at the ebook purchase it made me realise how efficient the sale was. It was a digital downloadable product. There was no physical product to move around or post and no customers to deal with. I decided to create my own ebooks and sell them online.

But after several attempts I failed to sell any of my ebooks. I put myself on a marketing course and this led me to another business model. Affiliate marketing is an online business model which lets anyone earn commissions from selling other people’s products over the internet. Again this meant no need to physically post anything or deal with customers personally.

Autopilot Job – Problems

After a couple of years working as an affiliate marketer I was still struggling. Between stunt work, driving HGV’s and working in offices I was blogging, running adverts and attempting to sell affiliate products of all kinds. But much of what I was doing amounted to nothing! My blogs didn’t get traction, my advertising account got banned and I was constantly jumping from one course to another, looking for that magical formula to success!

Success online and an “autopilot job” eluded me for a long time but I never gave up!

Affiliate marketing is basically an autopilot job. However it is also a performance based form of income. If you don’t sell anything, you don’t get paid. Once you start making sales online, you can learn from what works and what doesn’t work to gear up automated strategies to work for you. So initially, there’s a lot of work to be done with affiliate marketing. It’s not magic!

Over time, if you stick at it, you can start to see some sales. Most people will give up before they even see a sale; so the trick is to keep at it! Once you can automate sales, you have effectively got yourself an autopilot job for life and there’s less work to do for greater rewards.

Business Models

My first affiliate marketing attempts were flawed because my information was flawed! I worked hard at the wrong activities and chose the wrong kinds of products to sell too. I would find books, for example, from Amazon which paid me only pennies/cents for a sale. Later, I learned to sell products which:

Gave me a residual income for each sale – Recurring commission affiliate products
Paid high commissions on certain products – high ticket affiliate products
Gave me multiple streams of income including multi-tier commissions – earning from sales made by my team of referrals
Had a built in sales team – closing sales on my behalf
Offered a range of up-sells from which I could benefit.

Most affiliate programs only offer a single product. Once you’ve sold that product to a customer, you need to keep finding new customers to keep making sales. A good business model has multiple earning methods and gives you the opportunity to benefit from the lifetime value of a customer.

Affiliate Marketing – Autopilot?

To fully autopilot an online does take some time of course. I doesn’t happen overnight and there’s a few ways to do it. One strategy I’ve stuck to over the years is blogging. Although blogging does take a long time to generate an autopilot income, if you stick with it, it can work wonders.

A faster method is of course paid marketing. But paid marketing is expensive so it’s only a solution for those who have an income and can invest in a good business model.

With low value products like you’d find on Amazon, for example, you’ll struggle making a profit using paid advertising. But with a business model like the one described above (and in the image below), you’ll be much more likely to return a profit from an advertising spend.

The good thing about building an online business is that you can do it whatever your situation. If you’re stuck in a job you hate, you can build it up alongside your current income. If you’re time rich but money poor, you can use the cheaper and free marketing strategies to build up your online business.

Most people transition slowly from their jobs while using their income to finance their internet business and fund their marketing budget. Over time, you’ll see your online business income grow. With the benefit of recurring income streams and high value products, the transition from traditional employment to working full time online can be quite quick – 6 months to a year even in some cases!

An automated affiliate marketing system sells products over the internet automatically. This starts with a marketing strategy. This article is one such strategy, but there are many. If someone reads this article, and signs up to my email list, they then receive a number of emails from me offering various products which I’ve found helpful in my online journey. If someone purchases a product, I earn a commission.

Here’s the run down: Marketing – Email list – Affiliate products

Most automated affiliate marketing systems offer the “nuts and bolts” to build your own marketing sales funnel. Your job is to focus on the marketing, or the “front end” of the sales funnel. With a good digital marketing system, you can earn in a number of ways from your funnel. Ideally choose a sales funnel which has the following earning strategies built in:

High ticket digital products – digital products pay larger commissions than physical products and high value ones pay even more.
Subscription products – with memberships and software products you can earn commissions on a recurring basis. The same amount of work therefore produces a much higher return.
Multi-tier commissions – Let you earn from sales made by your referrals
Built in sales team – make sales on your behalf – simply refer the entry level products and the sales team does the “up-selling” for you
A range of products instead of a single “stand-alone” products -means you can earn more from the same efforts of selling a single product

Once you have set up your sales funnel containing all of the above earning possibilities, you’ll need to focus on your marketing “engine”. Without a marketing engine driving targeted leads into your funnel, the best automated affiliate marketing system in the world will be completely useless to you!

An affiliate product range and sales funnel doesn’t work all by itself. The main thing for an affiliate to do should be marketing – hence affiliate “marketing”. With an automated affiliate marketing system, most of the work is already done. You only need to focus on learning how to market your business. Paid marketing is fast. You can start running paid marketing campaigns and start seeing almost immediate results. With free strategies such as article writing (blogging) and creating content, it can take months or even years to benefit from the work you’ve done.

Once you’ve set up your digital business system you can choose which marketing strategy to use. Paid marketing can work very fast and is scalable. So with the right business model you can have a large business very quickly. However, this does require you to spend money on advertising which can be very daunting at first. But once you are consistently profitable you can scale up and leave your adverts running, making a profit.

Another strategy is to use organic content marketing. Create content on a regular basis and share it as much as possible. If you keep going for long enough, you’ll start to see people finding your content, clicking on your links and purchasing products, signing up to your email list, or both. This is a much longer term strategy than using paid marketing but can be great once you start getting traction. It’s free marketing ultimately but you’ll need to work at it for a long time to make it work consistently.

You’ve probably seen the “autopilot Amazon affiliate shop” package advertised on Google. I’ve seen a similar one on Fiverr. For only $50/£40 you can have a ready made “plug and play” affiliate website up and running. All equipped with your affiliate I.D. and ready to go. But what’s the catch?

The main problem with these sites is traffic. They don’t have any, and you’ll have to build the traffic to bring anyone to your site in order to earn anything.

This is the biggest problem for affiliate marketers. The products and the “digital store” is the easy part. Getting people to your website is the tricky part.

Here’s how to create your own Amazon affiliate store.

Autopilot Amazon Affiliate Shop

An autopilot Amazon affiliate shop can be built pretty quickly. All you need is a plugin which connects your site with the products you want to promote. Join Amazon’s affiliate program and download the plugin by clicking on the image below.

In order to qualify to join Amazon’s affiliate program you’ll need your own blog or website and to be approved. This can be tricky especially if you don’t have a suitable website, blog, or content.

So before you do anything, you’ll need a website which Amazon can use to approve your account. Otherwise you won’t be able to get your own unique Amazon affiliate I.D. and earn from a site, however it’s created. See my article on building your own website here.

Once you’ve got a website, join Amazon’s affiliate program, get the plugin and start putting items in your “shop”.

The main problem with these kinds of autopilot “instant digital shops” is getting people to your site. SO before you rush in and purchase one, be prepared for it not making anything. You need people to visit your shop and purchase things before you’ll make any money.

If you just throw up a site, or pay someone else to, expect zero traffic. Traffic (visitors) to an online store is either bought or hard-earned through content creation. Because Amazon typically pays a low rate of commissions for affiliate sales (1-11%), you’ll need free traffic.

A Keyword Targeted Niche Site

A keyword targeted niche site can help you a lot when building your autopilot Amazon shop. With a keyword targeted site, you can get some credit with Google and other search engines just for have the keyword in your domain. This isn’t as powerful as it once was, but it can have a bearing on whether you get traffic or not from the SERPS – search engine results page.

Building Content On Your Amazon Shop Site

Sometimes it’s just the luck of the draw whether your site ranks or not but often it comes down to how you build it and the content you put on there. An authority site which has been around for years, and has thousands of back links will always outperform a 3 page site which is just thrown up.

But it also depends on the keywords which are being typed into Google search. Most keywords people will type while looking for products to buy can be fairly competitive. Here’s the results from a quick search for “camera review”, for example. As you can see, there’s not much competition (look at the number next to results – 96).

So this could be a good niche to aim for with your autopilot Amazon affiliate shop. If you look at the site more closely you’ll see they’re an Amazon affiliate too:

One of the best ways to create content on a Amazon affiliate shop is to build a review website and write reviews. Just have a look at dpreview.com to see how much content they have created around different cameras.

A review site is a great way to get buying customers to your online store. With a review, you’re creating content which is searched for by people looking for information on a product they are wanting to purchase. If they find your content (and your affiliate link) at the last stage of the buying cycle, they’ll buy through your site; and you’ll get the commission!

Now take a look at another topic – smart phones. With a quick Google search you can see that this is a much more competitive area. Compare the number beneath the search bar to the one for cameras! There’s also a number of sponsored adverts at the top of the search bar. So going for this topic with your Amazon shop will be much more difficult.

Alternatives To Organic Traffic

Organic traffic is your best bet with Amazon. This is because it’s very difficult to get a profitable return on paid marketing with the small commissions Amazon offers its affiliates.

Paid marketing lets you automate an online business but only if you can make a profit. To make a profit, you need products and services which offer larger commissions and a different commission structure.

With Amazon you get paid once and need to find customers continually to make an income from using an autopilot Amazon affiliate shop. With digital affiliate products you can earn up to 50% commissions on a sale. If you also use high ticket recurring commission products, your return can be far greater. This can allow you to use other marketing strategies which are faster and more scalable than competing with the many other organic results on Google.

However, many stocks and shares don’t payout dividends so in order to get money out, you’ll need to jump in and out of the market. The longer you hold stocks for in general, the more you will benefit from the gradual rise in their value. But dividend paying stocks are a good way to create a simple income stream based on what you have invested in.

There’s a great app called MoneyBox which lets you automate the purchase of stocks and shares using round ups of your daily spendings. Moneybox is a UK only app but there’s a international app which is similar called Acorns.com.

Foap is another similar site only you get paid for sales of photos and videos which you upload to the site. If someone purchases a video or photo which you own, the site splits the profits 50/50. You can’t say fairer than that!

Blogging For Profit

Blogging is another creative pursuit which can be turned into an autopilot passive income. By creating content on a regular basis through writing on a blog, you can build an audience over time. This can then be monetised in a couple of main ways:

Through selling your own products from your blog
Selling affiliate products
Advertising using a PPC advertising platform such as Google Adsense

Again, much like Redbubble or Foap, the more content you create, the more chance you have of making sales and/or getting visitors to click on your advertising.

YouTube

YouTube is another great platform you can use to create autopilot income streams. There’s a few ways you can monetise YouTube:

Join their partner program and earn through advertising revenue
Sell affiliate products through organic traffic or paid marketing

To join YouTube’s partner program there are now some strict criteria and you’ll need at least 1000 subscribers and 4000 public watch hours in the last 12 months. So you’ll need to have been an active YouTube’er for a while to do so.

But many affiliate marketers make a income from YouTube by creating videos and promoting products. To use their paid platform though, you’ll need to have a good business model because it can get expensive. Learn how through this online business system.

If you’re looking for autopilot money making apps, here’s a few which might fit the bill. Some of these are more “autopilot” than others of course but I’m including both apps which can run silently in the background and those which require a little more work to make money from.

Autopilot Money Making Apps – Investment Apps

One of my favourite apps I’ve found to be great in many ways is Moneybox. With Moneybox, you connect the app to your bank account and it automatically rounds up your spendings each time you make a purchase. So if you spend £8.99, it’ll round up the remaining £0.01 pence and put it in an investment account. You can choose your risk level and even double up your round-ups and choose a weekly deposit if you life too.

Moneybox is currently only available in the UK but there’s an international app called Acorns.com which does the same thing.

The beauty about these two apps is that you can set them up and forget about them. The downside is that they are investment apps for long term investing in the markets to grow your money, savings and investments; so they aren’t a good way to make money if you want it quickly.

Autopilot Money Making Apps – Upload Photo, Video, & Design For Royalties

Here’s a great little app which lets you upload your own photos and videos and share the money made by selling them. It’s called Foap, and you can share a 50% revenue with the company should your photos and videos sell.

If you’re a creative person or even a photographer, you can upload photos and video and get paid for them. The more you upload, the greater your chances are of selling them and getting paid.

Redbubble is another similar site but for designs and logos. I’ve personally had some success with Redbubble just by uploading a logo I made for my kung fu school. The more logos and designs you can create, the more you’re going to sell. You get paid commissions based on what sells. People find your products and designs based on keyword searches. So it’s worth spending some time finding the best keywords to tag your designs with.

Autopilot Money Making Apps – Your Opinions Are Worth Something!

Yes your opinions are worth something, and people do care; if only to increase their profits, or sell your information! With Google Opinion Rewards, you can get paid for filling out surveys on your smartphone.

The surveys are short and you can fill them out while waiting in a queue at the coffeeshop! They could be for things such as hotel stays, personal opinion or customer satisfaction reviews.

You can also earn money by sharing your television and internet usage with Google Opinion Rewards. You can do this by simply watching TV and using the internet in your normal manner; so this is more passive than filling out the surveys.

Ipoll.com is a simliar app to Google Opinion Rewards and lets you earn by selling your opinions about various products and services.

Surveyjunkie is another similar survey marketing app which lets you complete surveys for cash.

eBay App

The eBay app is worth a mention here too and although this is effectively a buy and sell website (auction site), you can upload your stuff on a smartphone in a few seconds. Although eBay and some of the survey apps mentioned here are not exactly autopilot money making apps, they can make you some money with a little work.

Autopilot Income – Is It Really Possible?

So there’s a few apps which can create money for you. Some of them are for the long term, such as Moneybox and Acorn and others take a little work; like the survey apps. Some you can run in the background and effectively sell your information like with Google Opinion Rewards.

I personally like the strategies where you can work once and create continuous income from something you have done. Redbubble isn’t a major earner for me, but I like the idea, and if I was more creative, I’d spend more time creating and uploading my artwork to earn royalties on the sales.

If you haven’t heard of affiliate marketing, it’s another strategy you can use to automate an income from the internet. Again, it does take some work, but if you stick at it, over time you can automate the process of selling other people’s products online.

Apps Or An Online Business?

Apps can only do so much for you and only make you so much money. There’s another way too which involves creating automated income streams through selling products over the internet.
