Looking for money making loopholes you can use to make money online? While earning money online is completely legitimate, especially when done right, it can indeed seem like a loophole! I searches for several years for a means of earning online and found a few strategies you might call loopholes.

After a couple of years struggling with Forex marketing, I turned my attention to eBay. If found a clever eBay “hack” which allowed me to find cheap items selling for much less than they were really worth. I bought them using a tool called auction sniper, which meant I could snag a bargain for a fraction of its real value. I would then re-sell the item with a much better listing to attract more bidders, create a bidding war and massively capitalise! Here’s how it works.

Money Making Loopholes – eBay

First you need to do some searching using a tool called bargainchecker.com There’s a few misspell tools you can use in conjunction with eBay, but I found this one to work just fine. A quick Google search will show you how many of these tools are out there.

What bargainchecker.com and other such tools do is find misspelled items listed on eBay. Because they are misspelled, they aren’t getting the volume of traffic they should.

So if they are listed with a low starting bid, you can pick them up for a bargain. I found small electrical items to be the best. Larger items tended to incur larger postage fees which made them more difficult to make a profit on. I also sold designer labeled clothes and jewellery is a good small item too which you can make more money on by reselling.

Once you find an item which is worth bidding on, check on eBay advanced search the kinds of price your item is selling for. To do this click on advanced search next to the blue search bar at the top of the eBay page. Scroll down and check the box for completed listings.

Bidding On Your Bargain Item

Before you dive in and start bidding, remember your bid is likely to alert other bidders that someone else is interested in the item. You don’t really want to do this because it’s likely to push up the price and start a bidding war. Instead, decide on your maximum bid which will give you a nice profit when you come to sell. Head over to a website called auctionsniper.com and put in your max bid after creating an account. You can simply paste in the eBay item number to do this, which only takes a minute once you’ve set up an account. You’ll find this in the item description.

Re-Listing

You don’t want to win every single auction or get caught up in a bidding war. You really only want to “snipe” those bargains which you can make a profit on. By doing your research you find these little diamonds in the rough and re-list them for a tidy profit. Once you have won an auction, re-list the item with a better pictures, better description and of course the correct spelling. By using as many keywords as possible in your description too, you’ll attract more bidders. If you do this right you should make a mark up on each item you sell.

I used this eBay money making loophole for several months and made a profit on nearly every item. The only one which didn’t broke even and only because I was more honest than the previous seller about the condition of the Berghaus rucksack I was selling. Clue: name brands do well with this strategy!

After using this eBay loophole for some time I decided there must be a better way to make money online. After all, my room was full of stock and I was spending a lot of time on my eBay strategy but it wasn’t bringing in enough for all the work I was doing. While you can start selling more and more expensive items, I was looking for something better than this, something which could be automated.

The original eBay idea had come through the purchase of an eBook from eBay and I decided this would be worth a try. Selling a digital item can be automated and re-sold again and again on complete autopilot.

While selling your own ebook online is a simple loophole for making money online, the hard part is getting traffic to your website. After creating an ebook and attempting to sell it from my site, I bought a few online marketing courses in a bid to learn this skill. Through using various means including blogging, paid marketing or email marketing, affiliates recommend products and services all over the world. When someone makes a purchase through your affiliate link, you earn a commission based on the sale.

There’s many products and services you can use as an affiliate and many ways to promote them. The key to being successful as an affiliate is to find the right products and method/s of marketing them which works for you.

After a lot of searching I eventually found what I now consider to be the best way to make money online. Simply put:

Email marketing – send paid marketing to a landing page and collect your email subscribers
Sell your products to your list though building trust and offering value.

Most affiliates use at least some autopilot affiliate marketing software in their businesses. Website hosting, email autoresponders, advertising platforms all work on autopilot. Websites can operate undisturbed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week because of the hosting platforms supporting them. Emails can be sent out automatically day and night on a predetermined schedule. Content, (like this article), can be syndicated out to multiple platforms for greater exposure using content syndication software.

Automated product delivery happens for affiliates too; even with physical products. The affiliate doesn’t need to lift a finger to deliver an item. They don’t need to speak to customers either! All of this makes affiliate marketing one of the best business models for convenience and both geographical and financial freedom.

But software doesn’t come for free and there’s work needed in setting up all of this software too. Products don’t sell themselves and affiliates need to learn how to build an automated sales system before it can make money.

The autopilot affiliate marketing software which does the most for affiliates tends to be the most expensive. Google, Facebook or YouTube offer advertising platforms which can be super targeted and then scaled up to attract a global audience to your products and services. Algorithms can even find customers similar to your own, or target people who are most likely to purchase from you.

This can all happen on a massive scale too. When affiliates use digital marketing platforms and sell affiliate products, they can scale up to reach thousands of potential customers with their advertising. The catch is that this takes time to learn. Before you can build a six figure business with affiliate products, you need to figure out how, and take the appropriate actions.

How To Setup An Automated Business

The beauty of an automated affiliate business is that once you set it up and get it working, there’s less and less to do over time. Initially though, there’s work involved. You need to first set up a digital sales funnel which sells products automatically through email marketing.

Once setup, you will need to create landing pages to collect your subscribers information. A landing page is a webpage which collects your subscribers email and name. A landing page works better than a website for this because there’s less distraction for the visitor. On a website, there’s lots of content, options to click to and browse around. On a landing page, you have only 2 options: sign up or leave.

Once your subscriber enters your sales funnel, they will be sent a number of emails on autopilot. Ideally here the subscriber will purchase a product from your email marketing messages. When they do, they enter an automated process where they’ll receive offers of other products and services which they might want.

Digital Products Vs. Physical Products

Affiliates can choose which products to sell and how to sell them. There’s more benefits though, in selling digital products for a few reasons:

They’re cheaper to deliver – digital products can be accesses directly over the internet. This saving is then passed to the affiliate who typically earns 30-60% commission on a sale; compared to physical products which pay 3%-11% commissions
Higher commissions means you can afford to use more expensive marketing platforms, which are more easily scalable. This depends what products you have in your sales funnel (and whether you can be profitable). With small value items, this is more difficult.
Affiliate programs which offer recurring commissions are almost always digital products or software products.
Digital products which offer training, high ticket products and multi tier sales typically offer the best affiliate commissions.
With low paying products you’re doomed to use only free or cheap marketing strategies which are much slower and more time consuming.

Summary

Do you want an automated online business system? Once you’ve set up an online business, and got it working profitably, there’s very little to do to keep it going. But to get it working does take some time. You need to make sure all the pieces of your business are working properly. If you use a digital sales funnel, with multiple high ticket products in it, you can benefit from using paid marketing. Paid marketing is much more scalable and much faster than using slower, cheap marketing strategies like content marketing.

Making Money On Autopilot

The idea of making money on autopilot was what ultimately led me to become an affiliate marketer. I was a struggling stuntman needing another income and I knew the internet was the answer. After attempting Forex marketing, buying and selling on ebay and even attempting to sell my own ebooks, I bought an online course, which taught me another strategy.

Affiliate marketing is an online business model in which anyone can sell other people’s products and services for a commission. It’s also one of the best models where people are making money on autopilot.

For a while though, I struggled with affiliate marketing. I wrote articles and became a blogger. But no amount of work seemed to make me any sales, or income.

Making Money On Autopilot

My first online sale came after writing a review of some software I had bought to help me build websites. XSite pro it was called and I made $40 on a $100 sale. Not bad for a bit of writing! I was convinced that this was the start of many more sales, but alas it wasn’t happening!

Despite writing many more articles, I wasn’t making the sales. I jumped from one online course to another, desperate to start earning a serious income online.

After purchasing a course by a guy called Peter Lexis, I learned how to run paid advertising and send online visitors to a landing page. From there, they entered their details and I followed up with an email marketing campaign, which was automated. Here’s an example of a landing page. It’s just a webpage with only 2 options for a visitor: sign up or leave.

Making Money On Autopilot

After running an advertising campaign on Google Adwords for several days, I started making sales of Peter’s online course. Again it was a $100 course and I earned 40% commission. Because it was an online course, I could sell it to anyone who was online, globally!

After a run of sales I got a little excited. All I had to do now was increase my marketing budget and I would be making hundreds of sales every day. Since I was already in profit, it made total sense. Unfortunately Google didn’t agree and they shut down my Adwords account due to some non compliance issue. I was devastated! Back then, and this was around 2010, if you got shut down you couldn’t get your account back.

Despite this setback, I was determined to make an income online. I knew people were already making money on autopilot – Peter Lexis was only one of them!

I bought yet another course and this time it was using a different strategy – keyword research and organic marketing. Since my paid marketing account had been shut down, it seemed like a logical move.

Making Money On Autopilot – Organically

Making money on autopilot using the organic search results on Google isn’t a walk in the park! It takes time and a lot of effort. I joined a company called The Keyword Academy which isn’t running anymore. They taught me about keyword research to find content titles which could rank on the search engines to get free traffic. The monetisation strategy was through using Google Adsense.

I could simply place advertising on my websites with Adsense and they would pay me for each click my visitors made on the adverts. However, the key was to find content ideas which would not only be easy to rank for, but which also paid enough to make it worth your while. Very competitive niches tended to pay more for their advertising, while uncompetitive ones paid very little! Perhaps this is why the keyword academy no longer exists.

I spend several months following their advice but made next to nothing from my Adsense account.

Google Sniper – Money On Autopilot

Another course I purchased was called Google Sniper. A guy called George Brown had developed Google Sniper and his strategy was again organic niche websites. This was a similar concept to the keyword academy and involved building niche websites in uncompetitive niches.

I did get a number of websites ranking using this strategy and still use it today. This website is based on what I learned from George’s course. You can ready about how this site was built in the article “create free website and make money“.

I liked the idea of creating a website which would float to the top of the search engines and make money on autopilot! Although this technique is pretty difficult for competitive niches such as the “make money” niche or affiliate marketing, it works really well for locally based businesses.

A simple strategy is to put your main keywords in your domain name, including your local town. I’ve used this strategy for my own Kung Fu school and for clients who wanted more business for free from Google.

Making Money On Autopilot – Recurring Commissions

After a lot of time wastage on many free marketing strategies I found a company called SFM Mentors. They taught a different business model and a variety of marketing strategies. One of the main things I learned was to use products which offered affiliate recurring commissions. With recurring commissions, you get paid over and over for sales you have made previously. In addition to offering a business model which has recurring commissions, the SFM also offered a business model containing:

High ticket digital products – digital products typically offer the best commission rates for affiliates (see what is high ticket affiliate marketing)
A built in sales team – closing sales automatically
Multi-tier commissions – available at the top tier level
A product range – products you can offer to existing customers and still earn from

The Six Figure Sales Funnel

The six figure sales funnel contains a product range as described above. Affiliate marketers can use this kind of product inventory to make sales on autopilot. With high ticket items, multi-tier sales and recurring commissions within a product range, the affiliate has multiple earning strategies within a digital business system.

This can also be marketed globally which means it’s very scalable. In fact some affiliates spend tens of thousands of dollars every single month driving traffic into a sales system because they know they will earn more than they spend.

Marketing A Digital Funnel

Unless you have money to burn though, you should start out small when it comes to learning how to sell digital products online. Many a marketer has come a cropper when they spend money to make money like this. Ideally though, you would test and measure your sales funnel with small amount which you can easily afford.

Over time, and when you see a consistent profit from your marketing budget, you can slowly scale up. Marketers who spend $20k+ a month didn’t start out like that. They started out spending $10 a day and learned as they went!

This sales system is automated, using email marketing, paid marketing strategies and online sales platforms which run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! Because of all this, the affiliate marketer can focus only on their marketing. When you put $10 in and get $20 out, you know you can safely scale up. If you put in $10 and only get $5 out, or nothing, you know you need to work at your marketing somewhere!

Any growing business wants autopilot leads which convert into customers. With an email autoresponder, website owners can collect email addresses of their visitors and build a long term relationship with them through email marketing campaigns. This is usually done through an email capture page, or signup form which can be placed on a website page.

Once setup, a lead capture form can collect hundreds or even thousands of emails every day. Over time, many of these leads can be converted into customers by following up with useful emails, building trust and explaining how your products can be of value.

On a website, someone only has a few minutes to decide to buy from you. But once you get them on your email list, this time period is dramatically extended. A lead can even become a customer years after they sign up to your email list.

How To Autopilot Leads

Setting up the form on a landing page or website is the easy part. Once you have your email capture form set up, you need to send targeted visitors to it where you can offer them some value in order to encourage them to join your list. This can be done in a number of ways:

Using a paid marketing platform like Google’s Adwords, Facebook or YouTube
Building content which attracts your target audience.
Connecting with people directly through social media
Linking to your content from other websites, social media platforms and forums etc.

With any of the above marketing strategies, your audience targeting is pretty important. With the wrong kinds of people landing on your page, you’ll waste time and/or money because they either won’t sign up or they won’t become a customer.

Your landing page offer should be congruent with the product/service which you are offering too. Your lead magnet should be valuable and congruent with what your target audience wants and also your product. When everything is lined up your customer will naturally choose to opt in to your list because they want what you’re offering.

Autopilot Leads – Free Strategies

To get leads to come to your landing page for free is much more difficult than paying for it. It takes more time to do because you’ll need to either find people on social media or build content or both. Blogging is a simple free lead generation strategy anyone can use to get leads for free. When you start out blogging, it’s important to choose blog post topics which match your target audience.

If you get this wrong, your audience won’t want to sign up to your offer because it’s not relevant for them. YouTube Marketing

YouTube is another platform you can use to generate leads for free. In order to generate free traffic using YouTube, you’ll need to create a lot of videos and upload them to the site. Again, your videos should attract the kind of people who would value the products you are promoting. So it’s a good idea to create videos which would appeal to your target audience.

Facebook is another platform you can use to generate leads for free. One strategy is to use your personal profile and set it up with your lead magnet clearly visible. Then join groups and find people who fit the targeting criteria for your target audience. Add them as friends and interact with them, building relationships. If you have a local business, you can also use Google Places For Business (Google My Business). With this service you can create a free listing and get free traffic, but only if you have a physical address to base your business.

Autopilot Leads – Paid Strategies

Free marketing strategies are notoriously slow. It can take months or years before you even build up enough traffic to get 10 leads a day using free marketing strategies. But paid marketing is different. With paid marketing, you can start getting hundreds of leads the same day if you spend enough. Again, it’s important to be careful in the early days of using paid marketing. You can easily spend a lot of money if you don’t carefully set your budget and targeting requirements.

As an example, Google Adwords offers a great marketing platform to send people to a landing page and collect their emails. With Adwords, you can set a daily budget and target your advert towards specific search queries.

You can also target location too which is useful for locally based businesses. If your business is located in a certain city, it doesn’t make sense to advertise it in another country for example. This is less the case with global businesses or affiliate marketing businesses.

A landing page is different from a website. On a website, you can browse around and look at the different pages. With a landing page, you don’t have as many options. On a landing page you can opt-in to the list, or leave the page; that’s all! A landing page is designed specifically for the purpose of collecting leads. If you’re running paid marketing, it’s much more effective to use a landing page because it is much more efficient.

If you send people to a website with paid advertising, much of your marketing budget will be wasted. People will be able to click around and browse your site. On a landing page they can only opt in or click away. You only have two choices on a landing page.

I’ve mentioned targeting in your marketing a few times already but it deserves another mention for clarity. If your content doesn’t attract the right audience you’ll see fewer people signing up to your list and becoming customers. With paid marketing this is pretty important too. When your targeting is on-point, people will be more likely to sign up to your offer; therefore costing you less.

If you pay to send the wrong kinds of people to your landing page, they won’t sign up or they won’t really want or need your products. You can pay out a fortune collecting cheap leads, but unless they turn into buying customers you won’t be making any profit.

A cheap lead cost doesn’t always equate to sales. So you need to make sure you’re finding the right people by looking at your sales funnel holistically. The avatar is defined by many characteristics such as age, location, interests and connections.

Scaling Up Your Marketing

When you use paid marketing to autopilot leads into your sales funnel, it’s much quicker than building content. Once you have a profitable business, and are spending much less than you’re making, you can reinvest back into your marketing and scale up.

Your income from your business can be re-invested continually into advertising campaigns which have proved themselves. You can then also test and measure other campaigns and attempt to improve on your lead cost and conversion rate.

One way to generate free traffic online is to create niche websites. This website is an example of a niche website and has been built around the keywords “autopilot money making software“. There’s a couple of main reasons I chose these keywords:

They relate to the affiliate products I promote
Related keywords get searched for already on Google (see image below)
There’s less competition for this keyword and those like it, than most other similar keywords.

Create Niche Websites – Planning

The reason you might want to create niche websites is to rank them on Google and get visitors to your site for free. Most new affiliate marketers get stuck at getting visitors to their website. So planning a website around a specific keyword or set of keywords can help you get noticed by Google and/or the other search engines.

This site goes up and down the rankings on Google, according to a number of ranking factors. In some ways it’s not been as successful as I had hoped. But it does get traffic from the search engines and I’ve made sales from this site too. It’s not huge, but it’s something and I have several other websites like this one which get free traffic.

To find a keyword to build a site around does take some time. Ideally you want to find a keyword using the keyword planner, or some other tool. The criteria I used was to find a keyword in my niche (affiliate marketing/making money online), and find a keyword which I could potentially rank for. In this niche it’s incredibly hard to do this because of the large volume of other affiliates trying to do the same.

But it can be done if you’re prepared to put the work in and find a good keyword to base your site from.

Create Niche Websites – Keyword Domain Name

It’s worth mentioning that it’s not entirely necessary to use the keyword in your domain name. This is only a small ranking factor but it can help massively to get your website on the first page of Google and other search engines. I’ve tried both with and without it and find that it helps. But of course content is king. Don’t expect to throw up a thin website with no content on it and rank it just because it’s got a keyword domain name.

There’s many other ranking factors which are more important too:

Domain authority
Age of domain name
Back links
Content
Social media presence
Which sites link to you

There’s literally thousands of ranking factors which Google uses to determine which sites they rank and which they don’t. However, don’t forget the other search engines too: Bing, Duckduckgo and Yahoo for example. They can bring you visitors too.

Create Niche Websites – Visitor Intent

When you start out looking for keywords it’s important to decide on a keyword which has a good customer intent. What does the keyword say about your customer? In hindsight, the keyword autopilot money making software may have been a bad decision. It implies a certain laziness in the intent of the search query! My visitors may want to purchase a software which does all the work for them; so they don’t have to!

Of course in my content I don’t suggest that building an online business and/or earning from the internet is at all easy. I don’t want customers who think it is either. They will be difficult customers who will want a refund as soon as they see a problem or find out there’s a lot of work involved!

So customer intent is pretty important. Choose a keyword wisely with this in mind. Another of my niche websites is about affiliate marketing mentors. Again this lines up with a customer intent and the products I promote. Once you find a good keyword which does this, you need to see whether it has a chance of ranking on Google.

Ranking Your Niche Website On Google

There’s never a guarantee that you’ll rank your site on Google. But if you build a good, authoritative website and choose a keyword which is aligned with your products and has little competition, you have a chance!

When I first learned about this strategy the tactic was to find a search term with 2000+ searches every month. There’s little point in finding a great keyword you can rank but has little or no visitors! You might rank at the top, but still you’ll get very little traffic, or none!

However, this was 15 years ago or so. Things have changed and there’s far more competition on Google than ever! Finding a keyword which has 2000+ searches a month is not difficult; but ranking a site with such a keyword is incredibly difficult if not impossible. However this will depend on the particular niche you are looking in.

For a competitive industry such as affiliate marketing or making money online, it’s incredibly difficult. You’ll probably need to aim a little lower.

Start With Your Main Keywords

You can start by typing your main keywords into Google’s keyword planner. You should see the most competitive keywords first which will give you the most search volume. You don’t want this because although you’ll have thousands of people searching for these terms, you’ve little to no chance of ranking your site for them.

So instead you need to aim at the low hanging fruit. These are the long search terms which get less traffic volume but also are easier to rank for.

Click on the average monthly searched tab until you see the long tail keyword results.

Look For A Keyword Which Meets The Criteria

This should be a lot lower in search volume but you’ll also notice that there’s less competition on Google for these search terms.

From here scroll down to the bottom of the page and you’ll be able to scroll forwards through the search results and find long tail keywords with more search volume.

As you scroll through you should see quite a few search terms within your particular niche.

The key is to find a search term you want to base your site around and which offers a good balance between search volume and low competition for ranking a site.

I might, for example, choose this keyword “big ticket affiliate programs” because it meets a couple of criteria for me:

It lines up with the products I promote
There’s 50 monthly searches for that keyword
The “phrase” match on Google brings up only 1410 competing pages for that search term.

With a little more digging I might decide to build a website around that keyword. Namecheap shows the domain is free so I could decide to build a site on this keyword.

Do The Research

Although this keyword looks good, a deeper look into the Google results for a search of this term shows quite a lot of competition. Ideally the number should be less that 10,000,000.

Here’s a picture of the screen shot of a search for Big Ticket Affiliate Programs as of today (22nd September 2020). Look at the number directly underneath the search bar. It shows a massive 20 million 100 thousand competing pages. Plus many of those websites have a lot of information so there’ll be a lot of work in getting your site ranked.

Other Relating Keywords

Of course it pays off to find a domain name which can be used for many keywords within a group. With this domain name, I’ve been able to rank for all sorts of keywords which contain the keyword “autopilot” in them.

Once you find your keyword which you want to build a site around, you can create content using all the other keywords which come up for your main keyword choice.

So, even though the keyword “autopilot money making software” didn’t have a lot of monthly searches, many of the other relating keywords gave me enough to take a chance and build up the site.

So what is the best autopilot business today? A good autopilot business should be able to accept payment and deliver products on complete autopilot. One of the best business models to do this is of course affiliate marketing.

As a beginner marketer, you’ll be spending money on advertising just to learn how to do it. Most of your marketing budget won’t result in a sale either.

This is why so many affiliate marketers quit. They spend money, don’t make anything and quit. But the ones who stick at it eventually learn how to spend $10 and earn $40. Worth the effort – yes, but not using a $100 product.

High value digital products – high ticket items give you large commissions and offer large value. They make it easier to use paid marketing because you get a larger return when you make a sale
Multi-tier sales – let you earn commissions based on sales made by your referrals
A built in sales team – Choose an affiliate business which offers a fully operational business system and sales team – you just make the first referral and they do the selling
A range of up-sells.

It’s completely possible to build an autopilot profit system which generates autopilot commissions for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When I first looked to the internet to learn how to do this, I looked at creating an autopilot ebook sales page. An ebook is a great way to explain how to generate autopilot profits from the internet. Cut the adverts which don’t work and concentrate on those which do!

If you don’t have a sales funnel which offers high ticket recurring commission items, you are more limited in your marketing strategies. But you can still operate what can be a largely automated online business. Ideally at least use recurring commission programs because they’ll give you more bang for your buck! Don’t use cheap, physical products which only pay 1-11% commissions! Use digital or software products which pay larger commissions and recurring commissions. That way your efforts will generate more income.

One of my favourite marketing strategies is blogging. This article alone can’t bring thousands of visitors to the products which I recommend on my website. But by making a habit out of creating content, whether video or blogging, over time this can have a huge impact due to the compounding effect! One article might bring in a customer or two over several months. But a thousand articles can have a larger effect.

Email Marketing

Email marketing is a must for anyone who wants to create autopilot profits through affiliate marketing. A blog or an advert can only go so far in making sales. Take this blog post for example. Most people who land on this post will click away within the first 10 minutes. Most will never return again.

From a website, you only have a small window of opportunity to get someone to purchase your product or service. But once they subscribe to your email list, you can extend this time period to months, years and even decades. I still get people who have signed on to my list purchase years after they have signed up.

In conjunction with paid marketing, a high ticket sales funnel and email marketing, you can have the best form of autopilot profit generating system available today!
