Make Money On Autopilot

“Surely it’s possible to make money on autopilot”? This was a question I asked myself several years ago. With the internet at your disposal, access to a global population, and the automation available online, why aren’t more people financially free? Why are they still stuck in low paid jobs, trading their time away for money? Why don’t they escape 9 to 5?

The industrial revolution introduced the trading time for money trap; with its arbitrary working hours and low pay. But we are now in the technological revolution. Robots and automation have already replaced many jobs and the trend is set to continue. Meanwhile, sales continue to grow in the online world. Online companies have already replaced many high street shops which simply can’t compete with prices and convenience. Maybe we should all be looking for a way to make money on autopilot to escape the trend and level up with new technology?

Make Money On Autopilot – How?

Over ten years ago I bought an ebook on the internet and figured it was a cool way to make money. Not buying things online, but selling them. Selling things online can be automated and scaled up. Particularly if you use digital products to sell. Anyone can now learn how to sell pretty much anything online. Providing a product has an affiliate program attached to it, anyone can send customers to that product and earn a commission based on the sale. The business model is known as affiliate marketing.

With affiliate marketing, you can sell products on complete autopilot. You don’t need to personally own the product, or even speak to customers. This makes affiliate marketing one of the best ways to make money on autopilot.

The technical aspects of building such a business too have been largely simplified. 20 years ago, you would need to be a computer programmer or at least be able to build a website from scratch. Nowadays, anyone can use some software to build a website without any knowledge at all. If you can send an email, you can learn how to use software to build a website. Make Money On Autopilot – Affiliate Products And Automation

Making money on autopilot isn’t just about finding and selling products alone. It also involves learning marketing. Many people give up on the idea of building a legitimate online business because they just don’t know where to turn. There’s so many courses promising the Earth and underdelivering, that it’s a difficult arena to navigate. See 23 affiliate marketing mistakes newbie affiliates should avoid.

One of the main strategies to automating an online business is to choose the right products to sell. There’s so many affiliate products available online that it’s easy to go the wrong route. I spent a long time jumping from one system to another, without really getting anywhere. That’s because I wasn’t certain of a direction and so switched from course to course before getting any results with any of them. See my digital profit course review.

You need to find a system and strategy which you can automate which actually works. As an affiliate marketer, your job is to find a good strategy and repeat it. But until you do find a good strategy, it’s easy to think that affiliate marketing does not work. When you do find a good strategy, you can rinse and repeat it, and automate an income from the internet.

Scalable Marketing Versus “Free” Marketing

To really build an autopilot online business takes time and effort, plus a fair amount of courage. Scalable marketing strategies are those you pay for, by and large. They aren’t the free kind. So if you don’t have any money to invest in an online business, it’ll take much longer to achieve. To speed up the process though, you should consider using recurring income affiliate programs. These are programs which offer software and membership type products. With a recurring income from each customer, even if a small one, it’s easier to gain some traction and build an online business than with single items which pay you only once per customer.

Using paid marketing costs money and although it’s fast and scalable, you’ll be testing and measuring your marketing before you find a good campaign. This takes time and costs you marketing budget. Without a good range of digital products in your sales funnel, you’ll struggle to even break even, much less make a profit.

Using High Value Digital Products For Larger Commissions

High ticket products which offer memberships and recurring income to affiliates are your best bet with an online business. With multiple digital products in your product range, you can benefit from:

  • High ticket digital products – which pay up to 40% commission (compared to physical products which pay 3-10%)
  • Subscription items within your sales funnel – give you small ‘trickle’ income from each customer, potentially for life.
  • Multi-tier sales – let you earn commissions based on the sales made by your team of referrals.
  • A range of Up-Sells gives you an ongoing product range to offer to existing customers.
  • Using a pre-existing business model with a built in sales team lets you focus solely on marketing, and let the business run itself once you refer the customer

With a sales funnel like this, you can afford to spend on a marketing budget to build your email list. Without a good range of products, or products which offer multiple earning strategies, it’s much more difficult to build up momentum in an online business. With lower value products, you’ll need to focus on free marketing strategies instead. See free autopilot money making system.

Using Paid Marketing Systems To Scale Up Your Business

As discussed, it’s much harder to gain any traction with an online business when you don’t have a number of earning strategies from your sales funnel. If you’re using low value, or physical products, you’ll need to gain traction organically, rather than using paid marketing strategies. This takes much more time and considerably more effort to do.

With a high value sales funnel, you can use paid marketing to gain traction faster. But you’ll still need to learn marketing to do so. With paid marketing you can run an advert, see whether it works, and stop it if necessary.

With content marketing, you can spend a heap of time building content, publishing it and sharing it, without getting any results at all. The up-side of content marketing is that when something works well, it does so for free. The up-side of paid marketing is that when something works, you can more easily scale it up to a larger audience.
